Wetek Play 2 Ultra HD 4K Android / LibreELEC

How does the setup work with this box, regarding kodi and the satellite interface. Is kodi installed on or along side the satellite setup.

Also, is it easily changed between the 2 options, either satellite or kodi.
Another question is can 3rd party apps from the play store be installed.

I currently have a humax freesat box as well as a media server box, and if possible I would like something that combines the 2.

Having owned both the Wetek play 1 and 2 and become totally fed up with the brand and it's totally useless driver support I would say look elsewhere. The minute the play 2 was released all android development stopped on the play 1, with kodi ditching specific support for Amlogic as well things are not looking good. With the Play 2 most things sort of work but not as well as they should, look at the official wetek forum and have a good read of all the issues before you waste your hard earned on the broken mess

Personally I think the Play 2 is a great device. I use mine dual booting WEOS Android and Raybuntu's LibreELEC build. I've messed around with many devices, imo ALL have issues in some shape or form. I've also got an Nvidia shield, I much prefer the Play and and half the cost of an Nvidia shield!

Quite surprising how peoples experience differs Sicilian. Android I found very buggy on both devices. My main gripe was Wetek constantly blaming drivers for it's issues but never getting Amlogic to fix them. That combined with the inability to supply a dvbs tuner for the Play 1 when mine went faulty out of stock for 3 months, convinced me they were a company not to do business with. Your experience seems to have been far better and if the original poster purchases a Wetek I hope he has your results and not mine

    WEOS 2.0.2 pretty cool imo.

Driver I'm assuming you're referring to E2 images, thats down to Amlogic. I would not recommend a Wetek Play 1 or 2 with Enigma 2, but for Android and LibreELEC imo Play 2 is excellent.

My experience resembles yours, I bought 2x wetek play 1.
The android side is great but live tv is nothing to compare with E2, even Libreelec and TVHEADEND are still miles away below e2.
I sold my boxes as soon as wetek play 2 came out and they forgot about supporting play 1

Imo Wetek shot themselves in the foot trying to support Enigma2. They should have stuck to Android, OpenELEC (back then) and LibreELEC (current).

Imo Wetek Play 2 has a very good Android OS (WEOS) and runs LibreELEC very, very well from SD card. Raybuntu's Krypton releases are spot on booting from SD card.

    Code:
