Force CrossEPG to use Satellite as source and not cable on Hybrid box

    All,

This may be an individual thing but I get thoroughly annoyed with the cable info being pulled down.

Sky Sports F1 HD for example regularly has a programme name of Formula 1. This isn't descriptive at all, if i look on the SD satellite version of the channel it gives me a more in depth name (2016 Brazilian Grand Prix) instead.

Can I force CrossEPG to use the satellite EPG info to cover the cable channels? I.e. instead of it pulling down the cable info for the cable channels, it pulls down and presents the satellite information.

Please see the images below to compare the info provided by Satellite and the info provided by Cable.

    All help is welcome!

I also want to do this for ALL channels as the CrossEPG OpenTV epg info for satellite is better, short and concise... over the rytec epg for cable.

I use both sat + cable so would love to do the same as you mention.

    Anyone know a way?

OpenTV EPG data is propriety and comes from the satellite.

OpenTV EPG 28.2 is only for 28.2 services it covers
OpenTV EPG 13.0 is only for 13.0 services it covers
OpenTV EPG 156.0 is only for 156.0 services it covers

What you want to do is not possible.

CrossEPG obtains EPG data from two ways:

    1. Internet, this is where you select the XMLTV/Rytec sources. IMO, it is far better to use EPG Importer than Cross EPG for this purpose.

    2. Signal stream. This only applies to Sky 28.2, Sky 13.0 and 156E.

CrossEPG does not and cannot obtain EPG data from the stream for other services.

For cable, if the stream data (it is not obtained by CrossEPG) is conflicting with what Rytec provides, you should disable EIT and Virgin reader in your EPG options.

Thought something similar to how epg for iptv is "attached" by copying some sort of channel id code could be done via some sort of "hack".

Guess not, otherwise someone would have mentioned it.
