Vu duo remote not responding

Has anyone else had any problems with the vu duo remote not responding with the box ?
I have tried several original remote's but none seem to work ?
I have also tried new batteries but had no luck, also there is no option to change the remote code in settings on my image which is the latest openvix image. I have also tried the 2&7 combo but that doesn't work either.

Has anyone else come across this issue and managed to resolve it ? Could it be an hardware problem ? Please help
