And if 4k ever becomes the normal broadcast format it will be so heavily compressed that it will not be any better than HD is today.

And by the time one tenth of channels start to broadcast in 4k, all these 4k receivers will be in landfill.

Yes and yes but when you shell out 2k on a decent 4K telly your not going to be depends on low bit rate compressed shite that is sky.
