xtrend et 8000 no hdmi output, help please.

    hi guys,

i have been setting up today for my new projector system thats coming. so i have soent the day cleaning up behind the tv and making everything ready. during this process i unpluged my xtrend et8000 and moved the hdmi cables and reconnected everything back up.
problem is when i turned everything back on i looked at the tv and saw the box booting up on the tv it showed the xtrend screen although with blotchy green around it then changed to the nice sunlight country lane although again with blotchy green patches. the vix sign would then rotate for a sec at the top left of screen then my screen would go blank and the sign come up to say "no signal"

i have tried other hd signals to the tv and it works fine so must be a fault with the stb. also when i connected up a scart lead again the picture is fine its just a hdmi issue,

does anyone know what this is or how to fix it please??

    thanks
    ant

So it could be a problem with the HDMI cable. Have you tried a different one?

Check your cable/sat cables connectors... you must have messed them up.

If you have unplugged your HDMI cables without turning the power off on the STB/tv then it can damage the HDMI port on the box.

What happens if you put the box into standby, and back on again?

You must have removed the HDMI while the Satellite Receiver and TV were still on. You should always power off the devices before removing anything, especially anything HDMI, and its proved it with the Scart still working ok, so another words you will have damaged the HDMI socket to the board inside the receiver.

it was powered off. the main fuse board in the house was off so nothing had any power as i was going ot be drilling into the ceiling to fir the now projector.
i take it from the above statement the box is screwed or at least the HD side?

This is a replacement box as the original one from world of satellite had the same fault,

I would say the HD side is screwed yeah as the Scart connection is ok.

2 possible choices contact wos to see what they say or some might be able to repair hdmi ports,i remember the old kv had port issues and could be repaired by electronics repair specialist but have no idea what also could go.
