    First time cable set up

A pal in cable area is looking to purchase a box from wos,his tivo has just gave up and decided to try a change instead of asking for a knew one.hes asked me if i would help him with set up and to pick a relavant box.

Ive done a little reading up but ive a few questions.

    1:a good single tuner recomendation?
2:am i correct his cable will pop straight into box without buying new connectors?
3:in abm do you just select your area id ie gateshead
4: how do you download epg?
5:he has full sports package is there a way to view them or is this not possible
6:is he better off paying a little more and purchase a twin tuner?
7:does splitting cable for twin ok?

    Think thats all so far,
Sorry for so many questions but would be thankfull for any help on any question
    Cheers

The Tivo belongs to the supplier, ask them to replace it.

Does it actually work if you pop the Legit Viewing card from your VM TiVo box into an Enigma2 receiver with DVB-C tuner?

Or is there some keypairing thing that prevents the card from working in Any box other than the one it was supplied with?

When you say not easily.. does that mean it is possible at all?

Depending on what official VM box you have, you may be able to decap the icc (chip with about 80 legs on it), and read your unique decryption key out of it, but you will need to re-solder the icc back to the board so you can update your card entitlements in the future.
When you have your key, then you can learn how to use this key with your official card in Oscam.
Some newer VM boxes do not require a card so there is no way to do it.

When you say no picture, are you successfully scanning the cable channels with ABM? Are you using the Correct Net ID for Cable in ABM Providers List. (Leave Net ID with all zero's in Tuner Config)
