I guess there is an issue with the plugin either python code error or missing component. ...

Downloaded from where? The version in the feeds is 128.01.06.00rc1, which would appear to be a later version.

No, as that module is present in my 4.2.023 system:

    Code:
    root@et8000:~# head -n1 /etc/e2-git.log
    openvix: release 4.2.023

    >>> import htmlentitydefs

my version of IPTv Player is 143.01.07.00 as at post-date. To my knowledge IPTV Player is no longer available from plugins. You must have acquired an old version? As such it may have been corrupted?

Third party plugins are downloaded, added to GitHub repository we build from, the bitbake files updated. The plugins only become available "via feeds" when an updated image is built and "the feeds" have been transferred from the image build machine to the server that hosts the "the feeds".

There will always be newer version of plugins than what has exists on our feeds.

That plugin receives almost daily updates so keeping up to date is even more complicated. It has have an update function within it. At time of writing, latest version on the the actual plugin server is 143.01.07.00

I found an ipk of 142.00.10.00 which I have uploaded to the existing thread for it. It did not report any errors during installation.

Still the easiest way to install IPTV Player & ensure its the most up-to-date date version.

    Code:
    wget http://iptvplayer.pl/iptvinstaller.sh -O - | /bin/sh

But let's ignore the version, as it's not relevant to the issue in this thread.

The OP is reporting that IPTv doesn't run on 4.2.023 because of "No Module Named htmlentitydefs". but that module is present on my 4.2.023 system.

Is the htmlentitydefs included on a vanilla image? I don't think it is, I may be wrong. If it is, ignore passage below.

If installing the version of the plugin that OP has chosen, the version is important as a dependency may have been missed in the control file. Or at the time of installation, the OP could not install it from the image's plugin server for whatever reason.

    BTW,
usingthe script by @Judge only gets version 132. I have posted on PLi forum where SamSam resided, hopefully he will rectify it as simpler than the other script that was posted.

I just installed the plugin from the feeds on a box running release-4.2.023, let the semi-automated file install & update do it's work and (although one of the files could not be installed) the plugin works just fine (tested on several movies).

BTW: The version on our feeds is 128.01.06.00rc1, not 124 as reported by OP. So it looks like OP installed a not supported version from 'somewhere'.

Yes. It's in the pre-built rootfs.

I still don't understand why you didn't install it from the feeds; all updates would have been automated without any telnet command.

Here's an updated version of the plugin. I found no issues installing this on recent ViX-builds.
