    Terrestrial tuner TM-800HD

    Hi,

I bought a technomate TM-800 for my bedroom. I'm not too concerned about a cam, I was just going to tune in the free to air channels and maintain an epg over the internet. I have been trying to set it up using the fta over 28.2 and terrestrial channels in Ireland. I tried lots of images but none of them give the option of a terrestrial tuner.

Is there an image that has this option or is there a way to set it up please?

I'm starting to think I mat have mis-read the use of the TV-antenna port but if I have could someone correct me please so at least I know what the story is?

    Thanks,

I'm not familiar with the TM-800HD but if it has a terrestrial tuner (DVB-T?), then it should work no problem with Saorview. In the UK it would need a DVB-T2 to pull in HD channels but Saorview is all on DVB-T. It's an old receiver, so I don't know if there's a current ViX image for it. What are you running on it currently? Are you able to tune in the Freesat channels on the DVB-S tuner?

The TM 800 was abandoned on a PLI 2.1 image. I don't recall anyone posting that they had used a USB tuner on it.

It always run out of space. so doubt they had installed USB tuner drivers.

The antenna port is an RF modulator, not a tuner.

@coopershels - just in case it's not clear - the connector on the box is an output (similar to the one on an older SKY box), for distributing video/audio on a UHF channel to a TV. I would abandon any thoughts of using this box for any serious usage with current E2 images.
