    Why is PLI better than OpenViX

    What advantage does openPLi have over openvix?

    Don't you find that the picture quality on openpli isn't as good as openvix? I find there are more artifacts, blurry picture.

    You are talking about a satellite receiver not a HTPC media center, It does not need to run fast, unless its a really old and under powered receiver.

    Most if not all differences in speed can be attributed to how you the user have setup the receiver / image. For example adding picons to a internal HDD can easily add upto 5 seconds zap time per channel change if the HDD is not set to use permanent timeshift (PTS) as the drive would need to spin up every single time you do any thing that needs to show a picon.

    It's a myth that any image can have any real impact on picture quality (PQ). PQ is directly influenced by the hardware drivers, Linux kernel and bootloader etc, only the manufacturers can change or update the drivers and bootloader. Regardless of the image creator if the kernel, drivers and bootloader are the same across images the PQ should be also.
