    My guess is LNB failure.

Plugged in proprietary Sky box and all channels available.
When into signal and 97% locked.

I still cant understand why I get message on ABM but then do a blind scan and can then access all the channels.

I suppose i am going to try the OSMINI at my place and check tuner status again.

Are you doing blind scan or network scan?

    Separate post to avoid confusion.

Scan exactly as this and report back with what you find.

Post 21 is in response to post 20.

Please answer question in post 19. This was asked after you had said: "then do a blind scan and can then access all the channels"

Sorry didn't see that other post.
On OSMINI been doing a blind scan and all channels picked up.
I then run ABM and get tuner lock.

Box works fine in one location but missing c

My diagnosis is that you are not receiving the 11778 transponder.

Not sure how you are "blind scanning", but your tests prove the failure to tune. If the receiver works fine at your place, and not at your friends, then the tuner/receiver is fine.

    Think of it this way:

    Network scan

    Q. What do you have in your suitcase?

    A. Here is a list of what I should have.

    Normal scan

    Q. What do you have in your suitcase?

    A. Lets open it and check. I have x,y,z

Sometimes people do not pack what they have on their list. Your mate is only getting 548 out of 900+ channels.

LNB is probably not switching between high/low. It may need to be replaced.

    Hi Abu,

Thanks for the explanation and diagnosis.
The blind scan is being rub from the menu in service searching with default prompts.

I'm still puzzled as to when he does a blind scan then all channels appear in the list and are watchable. If there is a fault with lnb then I wouldn't be able to pick up the channels ?

I do believe it's not the receiver. It may well be the lnb but I wonder if its a cable problem too?

Anyway my next plan is to suggest he replaces the lnb. Thanks again.

You are assuming they are watchable. He has probably got the network scan option enabled when scanning.

Get him to try all 900+ channels to be certain.

When he does a blind scan it goes through 4 phases of determining horizontal and vertical transponders and then it starts the actual scan where you see the channels being scanned.

Following this he is able to see all 900+ channels.
I will try and get you screen shots later.

As mentioned I only get tuner lock after running ABM....

    Strange.

Seeing a channel in your list is not the same as being able to view it. Try taking out your signal wire, you can still see the channel, but not view it.

ABM does not complete if it gets a tune failed. If you enable 15 providers and get a tune issue on last one, nothing is done. All the 14 successful providers are not written.

You are not getting tune issue AFTER running ABM, you get it WHILE running ABM.

Until you sort signal issue out, you can run LraiZer's plugin. It will work while on any 28.2 service. It only tunes to 11778 service if you are not on a 28.2 service.
