I seen this on my ET10x00 but only once after coming out of deep standby. Turn off at the mains for a couple of minutes, to let the PSU voltages discharge, and then switch back on giving the box a cold boot and the problem should resolve itself.

I also have to do the mains cold boot every 1 or 2 months or so for when the hard disk goes missing after a deep standby - the reboot restores the (internal) hard disk.

I've now been experiencing this same exact problem for the past few months. For me it just seems to come and go, I normally max up the volume and then use the TV remote. Some time later it will return to normal behaviour but I never restart enigma2 or the box,it just sorts itself out.

I can't quite remember at what release I started seeing the problem but as nobody else has reported it I'm wondering if it's a driver related issue?

I experienced this twice since I made my previous post in this thread. I've also seen the missing disk problem twice in the same time span. My box is usually in deep standby every night.

    volume problem (video)

The only extra plugins I've installed are kodi, YouTube, epgrefresh and 3G-ntfs.

I see the problem maybe once a week.

How can I help to diagnose what the issue is, would it be safe to enable debug logging and then wait until I see the problem bearing in mind that it might be a week before I see the problem.

Seeing this more and more, either waiting or restarting enigma2 sorts the problem out.

How can I help to diagnose the problem?

setting debug logs to yes will not do anything to your running system other than store more info
What happens if you mute and then turn off mute?

I've tried muting and unmuting but that doesn't fix the issue. Only the last 2 bars of the volume produce any sound, anything below the 2 bars on the right and there's no volume.

I have noticed that the problem does seem to occur more frequently if I'm watching media from my NAS, so this afternoon I was watching an episode of Game On and after exiting the mediaplayer noticed the problem and again this evening I was watching a series from the NAS and had the problem once I returned to watching the normal channels.

I enabled logging and I've attached a snippet of the log, the following seems to occur when I press the volume buttons, the interesting thing is that if I then go back into the mediaplayer and play something I get no sound but if I then change the volume up or down the sound then comes back, exiting back to TV then results in sound and the volume control working normally?

    Code:
    < 24654.520> [ActionMap] GlobalActions volumeDown
    < 24654.520> [eDVBVolumecontrol] Setvolume: raw: 50 50, -1db: 32 32
< 24654.520> [eDVBVolumecontrol] SetVolume failed to open mixer: Device or resource busy
    < 24654.521> [Volume] setValue 50
    < 24654.718> [eInputDeviceInit] 0 72 1
    < 24654.718> [InfoBarGenerics] KEY: 114

Still happening with the latest 010 image. Is this only limited to the et10000 or are other people experiencing the same, wondering if it's limited to the et10000 then when was the last drivers update?

I've never seen this problem on my ET10K, if that helps.
