    MediaPortal on Vix 4.0

    Hi - just done the new Vix 4.0 flash via Image Manager. All went well apart from lost plugins incl MediaPortal. Tried the feeds and its not showing there - also tried the manual opkg telnet command and downloading an older .ipk file. Nothing worked. Any idea when this will be back online on feeds. Or any work arounds - version was 7.7.4 for MediaPortal. I haven't tested tsmedia yet though. The version I have is the brand new one launched yesterday.

    The plugin has been deleted from the feeds because the license doesn't allow us to distribute it.

    Install normal way from /var/volatile/tmp using ViX function the one Rob placed to message #6. Then let it update itself. Latest version today seems to be 7.4.5.

    You have to rename the file for example in mediaportal.ipk

    Hi tappari
    Thanks for your reply.

    I've just tried this and when I hit install it starts but then I get this.

    Execution progress:

    Collected errors:
    *opkg_prepare_url_for_install: couldn't find anything to satisfy '/tmp/.ipk'.
    Execution finished!!

    Any ideas?

    I didn`t even bother to rename it, but I installed it using telnet: opkg install /var/volatile/tmp/*.ipk --force-depends

    I installed it via Terminal and got these errors:

    Code:
    Collected errors:
     * opkg_lock: Could not lock /run/opkg.lock: Resource temporarily unavailable.

    *  MediaPortal installed                               *
    *                                                      *
    * Restart the Engima2 GUI to activate the plugin *

    I understand that OpenViX comes bundled with Gstreamer but I still wonder if those errors above can explain why most streams currently don't work for me?

    Hi,
    these errors do not have to do anything that streams are not working. If installation failed nothing would work. I think these 3 plugins are preinstalled. I just tested the first video of Auto-Bild and it worked. If you are looking for series and movies and can be a lot like geo blocking or web-site changed.

    ciao
