    Webif & Windows IE11

Hope I have got this is the right place:

When I try to open webif with IE11 on Windows 10 using the full IP address (e.g. "192.168.1.x") all the features seem to work OK, but when I try to open it using the host name ("et10000") it reports "Nothing playing" and only the "TV Multi EPG" feature works, while features such as "Bouquets Editor" just clear the main part of the screen. The "Open Source Web Interface for Linux set-top box" message at the top right hand corner is messed up because it does not seem to get the box type information.

The "et10000" host name rather than IP address works fine with putty, samba, & Firefox so it would appear not to be a network problem.

Using the full IP address is a bit of a pain because this can change with the normal set-up, and fixed IP addresses can be a problem when updating PC, router, or PVR.

Is there any way round this other than using a fixed address or Firefox?

It is advisable with any item like this to use a static ip, my router also has a device ip binding function, every media device in my house uses static ip.

    Happens for me too.
But only because I have NoScript in Firefox and haven't told it to accept the short-hostname. (I do have it set to accept the fully-qualified hostname, which is what my bookmark points to).
If I let scripts from "mbtwin" run then it all looks OK.

For various items on my home network i use DHCP reservations whereby I leave the kit as DHCP enabled but they always get the exact same IP address that I have allocated. Great after a reflash - I know exactly what the IP address is.

DHCP reservations on router or Fix Ip on your network kit.
Still can't figure out which is the best way.
