Have you restarted Enigma 2 -- if not -reboot and should be okay.

You do not have to activate the location. The image has a list of locations to check and will use the location it finds. It will only use one location.

Please explain how you have "done an install". Provide as much detail as possible. Normally when you install a picon ipk, it installs to the lcoation set in the ipk. It is not usually /media/hdd

Do you have more than one picon folder on your system? Your debug log will show what location has been selected.
Are the picons correct, i.e they match the service references of the channels?

What I mean by install. Is that I added them from the plug in and after selected the medium as the hdd it install them to my harddrive. . I only have one picon folder on the hdd. After a number of restarts I still cannot see the picons. I have done the channels selection setting as well.

I asked about your system, not just your HDD.

Upload your debug log. Add as attachment, do not paste it.

Debug logging is enabled as follows:
Menu -> Setup -> System -> Logs -> Enable debug logs = yes.

You must restart receiver to activate this. You will find the logs in /home/root/logs/

There will be an entry like this
    Code:
    [Picon] adding path: /media/hdd/picon/

    Hi,
if there is also a directory /share/enigma2/picons which on wins? I am quite sure that /hdd is quite at the end of allowed directories.

    ciao

There is no directory called picons under /share/enigma2/. I will now zip and upload the other files.
