    Question regarding Satellite Receiver CPU's

    Hi,

Sorry for such a dumb question but which processor is the most powerful?

    2K DIMIPS 750MHz CPU
Dual core 405MHz Broadcom MIPS CPU

I want another budget receiver for one of our bedrooms but I want it to be able to play HD media directly from my NAS Server.

Which of the processors is likely to handle playing HD media better?

    Thanks,

    Yellow Ostrich

None if we are being brutally honest, these are foremostly satellite receivers and are actually poor media players.

    Hi,
for playing media files the speed of the CPU is not important as it is done in hardware. To give a little idea the fastest current STB CPU does not reach the speed of one of the first Intel Atoms so they are still really slow.

    ciao
