Updating receiver

Hi all
Been looking at the sponsors receivers and can anyone say how often would you need to put in the openvix
software into the receiver after being put in when I buy the receiver I was looking at the vu solo2

If you set up and everything works to your liking, then apart from running ABM to update the channels and updating the EPG then there is probably no need to update ... it's really your decision
