XBMC Launcher - E2Player no sound

    Hi All,
I have a VU+ Duo2 running latest hades with the XBMC plugin (XBMC 13.2 Gotham), ive run wookie to install the usefull addons in one go but I now dont get any sound when playing streams from Genesis or other addons?
not sure if the sound problem materialised after updating Hades or running Wookie?

the XBMC app seems to be using the E2Player as the default, tried using easy advanced config editor to change the default player to DVDPlayer without success.
also installed the mediaplayer plugin from the enigma plugin menu which seemed to change the layout of the player in XBMC but still no sound.

ive read somthing about using mediaplayer2 on a Black Hole forum but not sure if it applies with VIX?

    any suggestions ??

    Thanks

Hades is no longer supported. You are best upgrading to ViX 3.2. You are able to do a settings restore but not advised to do a plugins restore.

    Hi,
that you have 7.1 does not mean that he likes AAC:-)

Ok here is were im at on this:

re flashed my VU duo2 with OpenViX 3.2 014, restored settings and not plugins.

Fixed the plugins not showing in download screen (http://www.world-of-satellite.com/sh...-UG-to-3-2-014)

installed XBMC from extensions in download plugins screen.

did the telnet fix for genesis script failed prob (opkg install python-pkgutil)

on starting XBMC I get a black screen (I also got this before but forgot to mention it), the VFD display on the Duo shows 'XBMC Intro Video'
I have to press stop then XBMC home screen is shown.

when playing a stream as before it plays without sound.

on looking at settings for the AAC downmix I notice there is no audio device and audio device is greyed out. (i think it was also like that on hades)

think I read somewhere some one else had the no audion device problem but I dont remember seeing a solution

    any ideas?

    Thanks

    Hi,
you have to activate ACC downmix in E2 not XBMC.

    Thanks Trial!
you were spot on, set AAC downmix to yes in system setup and audio when paying streams is now back.

I also disabled play xbmc intro video in XBMC settings\system\ to prevent the black screen on XBMC startup.

the audio device is still greyed out in XBMC settings and there are no GUI sounds but it may have been like that before and I may not have noticed, it may just be a limitation of the E2 XBMC plugin?

Next I may look at installing Mediaplayer 2 to E2 as I dont really like the default E2 player that XBMC uses.

Does the XBMC plugin play sound using its own player? (DVDPlayer)

it uses the E2player, I tried configuring it to use xbmc's default dvdplayer but couldn't, think I've read somewhere that you can install mediaplayer2 on the VU+ Duo2 which has similar features to dvdplayer!
I would be interested in installing it because I don't like the basic E2player as there isn't many features like info ect but I haven't tried that yet

Trial posted the resolution to the no audio in playback in post#3

I currently use media player 2 using the information on the Black Hole forum. I was not keen on the interface of Media Player 2 either so I modified the look of it?

The solution to the no audio problem is not for the default DVDPlayer is it?

no, don't think xbmc's dvdplayer is compatible with E2

i'd be interested in the link you followed to install mediaplayer2?

also more info on what you did customising the interface? (maybe a new thread would be best?)
