Auto update idea

You know what this image needs? An automatic update option, that can be configured like epg or abm to update the image whilst the receiver is not being used.
The next time you switch on it could display a message "your receiver has been updated to build ***, view the changes here (press blue or something)
Obviously if you've got recordings scheduled it wouldn't run etc.
What you guys think, possible?

A good idea on paper but it's something that i dont personally think would work.

we get enough flack when updates go wrong as it is now or when users dont read announcements telling them not to update on certain builds, I think we have the best solution now by giving the user the choice to update or not as they wish. Thats not to say i'm dismissing your idea as this is just my opinion.

This is not going to happen. An update is something to consider every time again. Do I want it? What brings it? Did I just read about issues? Is there no recording or streaming going on or planned? Etc. etc..
