I Need Advice Please With Nexus 7 32gig

My wife has bought me the Nexus 7 as a surprise; I was looking myself as you know about getting an Android tablet. The question is can I root it and update to 4.2.2 ,can I root it and update it straight out of the box .Can I use it straight away ,or is it better to charge the battery up before using it .I hope it all makes sense what I have told you .

you should be able to update it to 4.2.2 anyway, you dont need root to do that.

you can of course root it if you want to install apps
