Any sat receivers with 1080p resolution

Guys i have a vu Duo at the moment and considering upgrading to either a vu solo 2 or technomate receiver, can the newer receivers now output in 1080p rather than just 1080i.

I knoq theres no channels that broadcast in 1080p as that would require alot of bandwidth but would like an output of 1080p to watch sky and mkvs, i know receivers can play 1080p mkv's but its viewed at 1080i.

    Hi,
your duo can play mkv with 1080p24 but you need the plugin autoresolution to achieve it and the source must already be in 1080p. So it is quite easy to play a BR rip in perfect quality.

The solo2 can output 1080p also from interlaced material.

    ciao

Playin mkv/divx and bluray not really tested here, so not sure if this alwaysworks flawless with every file

    HI,
playing m2ts from a BR rip is possible. ISO rip of BR is not possible.

Any thoughts on the TM-2T for a bedroom receiver which will have only limited use. I.e watch some sly channels and also access some recordings on the duo and my nas drive for the m2ts and mkv rips.

Should be more than adequate for that. Mine is a great little box, just needs a few minor niggles sorting out by tm in the drivers but other than that its utterly great.

Or the XP1000? Seems to be a good, stable & cheap box.

Not sure, but when Markus wants to stream m2ts/mkv from Nas, wouldn't it be better to have Gb Lan on the box

Gb lan would be best, but 1080p should work fine on 100mbit.

Since getting a gb switch for my nas to actually connect via gb, I haven't had any stuttering problem on Ultimo or twin

100mb should be more than adequate. A switch is often the bottleneck, so using a gb-switch (also in a 100mb network) is a good choice.

Cheers for the info guys, I do actually have a gb network i.e router/switch/nas all gigabit apart from the adsl router which is 100mb and the vu duo downstairs which i believe has only a 100mb fast ethernet nic.

Im tempted to go for the vu Solo2 for the latest tech etc i.e 1gb lan and 1.4 hdmi interface etc, going to need to quad Lnb now to replace the standard sly dual Lnb i have.
