    Less sub-forums please?

    Hello,

Just wanted to pass my suggestions on about the forum.

First off, I think it's a fantastic forum and I'll be donating soon enough no doubt.

However, I think the forum is too big and it needs to be condensed. The sub forums to each range of box could be condensed into one or two subforums and clearer stickys could replace the subforums e.g. one sub forum which has stickys for plugins, images etc.

Maybe take away the plugins for each box forum and make a 'ViX plugins' forum which everyone can see they are 100% supported on ViX. I'm sure there is one but the information is scattered around everywhere and it's hard getting a clear cut answer sometimes.

I'd also like a clearer background to the forum so the black text is clearer to read over the purply (blue?) background.

I believe posts get missed across the forum. I own a Gigablue box and the VIX and Vu forums should be featured near the very top but you have to scroll down near to the bottom to find them. Surely the most popular boxes should be near the top and the older, less popular boxes should be down the bottom?

I hope someone reads this and agrees to some capacity. Let me know what you people think.

    Thanks.

Thank you for taking the time to offer your feedback with reference to the forum, it is always appreciated to receive such feedback and we will always look seriously at how to best tailor the forum to our users needs.

Please don't think I am dismissing you as would never do that, and I do agree there are certain areas where we could improve things such as removing old sticky threads and reorganising certain parts of the forum.

I personally agree that in areas such as plugins and skins we could have one large forum as there is no real need to separate those on a per receiver basis, I do think however that we should keep the individual receiver forums as not all aspects of the image is universal over the whole range of receivers we support, plus we also offer support for receivers we don't provide images for etc.

As for the positioning of the duo section or any other for that matter, it's setup alphabetically not on a which receiver is most popular etc.

I am interested in some of your ideas so please do let us know how you think we can improve things, and we will honestly take those ideas into consideration.

    Hi,

Thanks for replying. I've just used the little arrows on the right hand side to hide some forum sections and it still feels like the forum is rather large to take in. Maybe it's the colours used, like I said, it's abit boring to feed and nothing really stands out enough on the main page to make it easy for a first time user.

If you combined sections together you could reduce forum space. The technology section and the traders sections looks abit lost, but then again, I've never used them.

Old boxes should be thrown into together I think too.

    Thanks again.

At the moment, all the sub sections are expanded by default.

Would it not be possible to have some of them collapsed and the user expands as required?

I'm looking at ways of having tabbed forums.

I have just noticed that if you collapse sub-sections that you are not interested in, they stay that way.

I think that all the VIX information should be at the top. Perhaps calling it the main section like, All the Vix info, to be alphabetically correct.
