VU DUO STUCK ON STARTING SCREEN VIX 2.4. strange Ethernet cable removal before boot

    Hi
I am having an issue regarding the vix 2.4. I flashed it yesterday from vix 2.3. All was well got all setting up work done with no problems and not one crash, hdd and usb, cams all mounted successfully and box/software was working really well was impressed.
But then my headache began the box would freeze/hang on the boot up process after a deep standby, I have the VU screen logo and starting but it never changes to loading I tried removing the hdd and usb but this was not helping either so I narrowed it down to the ethernet cable I think as it boots when this is removed, I then have to plug it back in when it says loading very strange!!! Then the box works as it should no crashes\freezes.
I have installed the new updates but this still did not cure my problem. The only thing I did not install was a new boot loader as I thought the version from the vix 2.3 was sufficient.

Any help would be great starting to pull my hair out.

    Cheers

Is there any known issues with vix 2.4 not starting booting in general.

Is your Duo set to DHCP in network settings? Have you tried rebooting your router?

Not really. What can be of help on any box is to disconnect the ethernet cable before you boot the box. If that does help: plug it in when the box is alive and check all your lan-settings (IP-address, lan-mounts).

Hi guys i am also having this problem my box started playing up as of yesterday so i re-flashed with vix 2.4 build 155 and setup every thing. box works great then this morning the box was stuck on starting no vix image on screen i have looked at what chrisjxxx has said and removed my ethernet cable and restarted but my box still stops on starting. thankfully i have backed up my full image after the reflash last night so if i need to i can retreive every thing.

I get this problem from time to time.Normally it happens to me when I haven't update in months and then try to update. Usually over 150 updates I need to download. What I do to resolve this when this happens is go to Openvix website download the newest image onto a USB drive and restart my box with the USB and it will start the flashing process.Once flashed it will reboot and hopefully you have a backup of your settings which will make this a painless process ,if not get ready for a lot of time re configuring your box from scratch. ( like you had to when you first set it up ) hope this helps!!!!
