TM 5302 boot error, freezing, unresponsive, PLEASE HELP

my new tm-5302 froze the other day after only 2 days of use, just froze on a channel and wouldnt respond to the remote. i powered down using the switch on the back and expected it to re-boot but it never did. it switches on but there is no signal on tv screen and the digital display on the front of the box just goes round and round and round...

would assume i need to do some kind of hard/factory reset using the front panel buttons but not sure if anyone can tell me how to do this if they know the button sequence? would really appreciate the help!!

    thanks in advance

when you switch off at the back and switch back on while holding the menu button this will bring you into the tm's loadermenu here you can do a hard factory reset this will empty your flash completely so c-lines will be gone too start again with original firmware and factory reset then patch and factory reset then put back a channel list and rescan all sats in use.

did you push down and hold the menu button at the frontpanel of the reciever while switching back on at the back ?
if this doesn't work you will have to get a null modem lead (rs232 lead) and use a loader program on your pc and reflash your box that way.

Hi mate, yes i tried holding down menu, standby and several other buttons and combinations but no joy

Technomate have sent me the software file to flash the box however like everyone else i've not got a computer with an RS232 connector. Should i be looking for a null modem with usb connector? Something like this :

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Serial-RS-23...2352455&sr=8-4

    Thanks again

yes that's what you need then but it's kind of hit and miss with the usb to rs232 make sure you get a disk with the right drivers with it a lot of people never got it going i only used rs232-rs232 and work perfect but never usb-rs232.
Did you get the loader program of technomate too, maybe ask them for the best lead to get for usb-rs232
they used to have them before.
