This is the master and two of the extension boxes. If I just plug a single extension lead it works fine.

If I wire up from the master box to the two extension boxes it rings for a few second and than its like static but the house phone never rings - i did this using connector 2 and 5

It's usually the blue pair going to 2&5,

Sent from my iPhone using My fingers to push buttons.
Let me get this right as this has been going on for two weeks now

In the NTFE master socket I have put blue to 5 and blue white to 2 and done the same on all the slave sockets but no incoming call ringer.

Plug the phone into the master works fine

Plug and extension cable in works phone.

Now if I have read your post correct, leave the master as 2 and 5 but first slave needs to have three connected as does 2nd slave socket?

this is how you should have your phones wired, ( YOU DO NOT NEED PIN 3 CONNECTED ) so the small face plate on the nte5 connect 2&5 like a daisy chain. you can use any color you like as long as it is the same through out, though moste people would use the blue pair and some prefer the orange pair. the reason it does not work is down to your wiring, probably a nail or staple through the cable try meeting it out.
