On November 14th, the Fraunhofer Heinrich Hertz Institute, in association with EMC2, is presenting a one day workshop aimed at bringing together a range of professionals to explore the future of 3D.

The event will be held at the Heinrich Hertz Institute (HHI) in Berlin who themselves will present their Cinema of Tomorrow and Virtual Mirror (a glimpse of the future of shopping), as well as presentations from other 3D research institutes and technology companies.

During the day, which is free to attend, participants will be able to learn new developments in 3D technology and forge connections with industrial and academics players from Europe and the Far East.

HHI will also present their 3D Innovation Centre (3D-IC), a new facility, opening next year, to enable research institutes, private development labs and media/ telecoms companies to access technologies for 3D development, production and distribution.

There will also be a moderated discussion where panel members and audience members will discuss topics surrounding the future of 3D media, research and its social impact. One particular discussion will investigate what possible repercussions there would be of a world of flawless 3D creation and replication.

THE FUTURE OF 3D MEDIA is for all those working at the forefront of 3D visualization or simulation, 3D display, sound or interaction, virtual or mixed realities, gaming, image analysis or reconstruction, future TV or cinema and related areas.
