How should I connect my vu+ solo to my pc?

I am using a network cable connection between my pc and VU+ solo, and I have tried DCC, filezilla but there is no connection,
For DCC, I use "root" for username and no password. but i always receive this message:

FTP Connected
Enigma2 not detected (Functionality limited)
Telnet login incorrect!

never done it that way always have the connected to router and done that way. Why would you want to connect it this way?

I think filezilla works without a password. Otherwise ftom command prompt on your pc, run "telnet <ip address>", put username root, password (or just press enter if you've not set one),

then, when you are logged in, use the passwd command to set a password.

I havent , I have been tring to do so for the last two weeks, first i used vit image and now i am using vix

your going to have to try and change your password and see if that works. on ur solo go in menu/plugin/ Green Button (download plugins) and under "Extensions" download the Passwordchanger plugin and install it. then go back into the plugins menu and change the password to something else and then try that in ur ftp

1. Use a cross over cable.
2. from the cmd prompt on your pc type telnet ip of the box then enter (If you are using windows 7 you will have enable telnet google it).
3. login root

See how you go with that

NO you only need a cross over cable if going direct from the pc to the box if going through the router straight through cables

Connect VU+ Solo to Router with standard Ethernet cable.
If the router doesn't have DHCP you must manually set the IP of your Solo
otherwise the router automatically binds an IP to VU+ Solo.
To Find VU+ Solo IP look at VIX menu/Network.
Use FTP software as mentioned at previous posts.
Enter correct username / password and the IP of your VU+ Solo.
Click Connect and you are ready.

As you asked , I checked my modem router, I am using Linksys by Cisco Wireless-N Home ADSL2+ Modem Router WAG120N
and it has the DHCP as I found in its features: DHCP Server capability to assign IP addresses automatically
I have already connected Router, Laptop and VU solo as it is shown in the picture,
IP of the Vu solo in its menu/Network is assigned as 192.186.1.101
I have several times tried DCC and Filezilla in order to connect to vu solo but I couldn't.
I am not sure but maybe the problem is the password, although I do not recall assigning or changing any password.

I assume you have a windows computer?

Can you run command prompt, and try typing "ping 192.186.1.101". But, are you sure it 192.186.1.101 and not 192.168.1.101? Could it not just be typing the wrong address?

Anyway, if the ping works correctly, you can talk to the box... Maybe try disabling firewalls etc on the pc?

Finally, yesterday I got connected to my vu solo, then I used Punisher's great instruction on installing cccam 2.2.1

after that I entered my cccam account in the menu/plugin/cccam 1.3
then i faced another trouble, when I want to use PPanel it doesn't enter it, instead I see a green window saying that,
we are really sorry your dreambox encountered a software problem

and the box restarts.
