VU+Solo Hard drive constantly running

I have installed a usb hard drive on my solo and set up the directory for media/usb/movie, timeshift and recording are working fine. My picons and epg data are on a usb stick and not the hard drive i have set the hardisk to go into standby after 2 mins. So the issue I have is the Hard drive is constantly running even when the box is in standby ? Thanks in advance

It would run as it's spin down is controlled by the USB housing rather than the solo but then normal housing spindown any way

Also I would advise adding it as media/hdd instead

Changed it to media/hdd but it still spins it starts spinning as soon as you connect the power supply to it, Is this normal ? @ silverfox I am sure I remember from somewhere you had yours set up to use the duo's hdd on a share how did this work out and was this easy to set up Thanks Alan

Yes I still have that setup I had made a post b4 how to do it nut can link OT as I'm on turkey right now and using tapatalk and bot fully fluent with it but on my rerun if not answered already I will answer it for ya
