Hi all,
I am running the latest Vix image & have a bunch of movies mainly in .avi format.
All play & sound perfect on my laptop/pc but playing them (not all of them) on the Vu box there is an awful crackle on the sound making them unwatchable.

Any idea what would be causing this & how I could fix it?
Thanks.

it's a well known problem but it's due to the lack of support / drivers etc from VU+ them selves and not a VIX only issue. the box does play .MKV files well but has notorious problems with some .AVI's

Thanks for the fast reply. Is it a VU+ problem or Enigma2 problem?
Still new to this but any idea how often Enigma2 new releases come out & are you better off then waiting for an image like VIX update to update the box?

OK, just flashed my solo with the Official 5.5 Image

http://archive.vuplus.com/image/2010/5.5/
And all my movies (avi & mkv) with no sound/choppy sound all play perfectly now!

Any ideas when a VIX image will be released using 5.5 rather than 5.4?

If currently being worked on, no release date is set and will be released when its ready :)

cool, thanks for the reply.
I think I might just stick with 5.5 for now as the family need sound working on the movies.
Thing I'm stuck with now is getting cccam working, I've installed the version on

http://www.world-of-satellite.com/showthread.php?4004-NEW-CCcam-2.2.1&p=29293&viewfull=1#post29293
copied my CCcam.cfg to /etc but can't seem to get it working.
Don't see any start cccam or any other refferences to it in any menus, any ideas?

Can't say this'll work 100%, but what I'd try doing is creating a link in the startup folder. Dunno where cccam is installed to from that file, but replace the dir/filename with the correct ones:

ln -s /etc/rc3.d/S99CCcam221 /usr/bin/CCcam2.2.1

Assuming cccam is called CCcam2.2.1, and is located in /usr/bin, then this will create a link to tell it to start it on every boot...

Thanks pooface,
just a quick reply/update for anyone else stuck with the same problem, to get Cccam to boot on startup, it should be

ln -s /usr/bin/CCcam2.2.1 /etc/rc3.d/S99CCcam221

If CCcam is added to /usr/bin/ & renamed to CCcam2.2.1
