Hello All

I have searched the forums and cannot find a a 'Vu+ solo set up for dummies' (me!)

So far I have flashed my Vu+ solo box with USB Vix Enigma 2

Now I am stuck as what to do next?

Also on the HD TV screen I get a green screen (works ok on a small old style TV)?

Apologises for my ignorance

jerry

The setup procedure is basically the same as the Duo http://www.vuplus-support.co.uk/showthread.php?213-Basic-newbie-setup-procedure-for-VU-Duo-for-Dummies

Except you wont be fitting a HDD.

Whats your setup? Fixed or Motorised dish? Which image did you flash?

First you will need to setup the video display and language.

Next setup the network,
Here you can choose to use DHCP to assign you an ip address or you can set it as static,
If you dont want to use DHCP select "NO" and fill out the required values,
Then
Check for any new updates to the vix image,
Press "Menu",
Then "Setup",
Select "software management",
Next "software update",
Press "OK" to update the STB.
Then
Download cccam,
Long press the blue button for the plugins menu or press "menu",
Select "Plugins",
Then press the green button,
Select "cams", Press "OK" to download,
Then
Once your cccam has been downloaded you will need to activate it,
Press "Menu",
Then "Setup",
Next "Softcam/ci",
Then "Softcam setup"
Here you can choose to enable the cccam at startup by pressing Blue button.
Then
Set tuner A configuration mode to "simple",
Then change "DISEqC mode" to "1.2",
Fill in lat and long
Then OK.
Enigma 2 channel settings can be downloaded from the VIX server,
To do this press "Menu",
Then "Plugins",
Press the Green button,
Then "Bouquets",
If you want to do an Automatic Scan try this,
Press "Menu"
Then "Setup"
Select "Service searching"
Next "Automatic Scan"
Press Ok to scan

Look at the first screenshot in this thread http://www.vuplus-support.co.uk/showthread.php?213-Basic-newbie-setup-procedure-for-VU-Duo-for-Dummies

Use your left/right/up/down and ok button ;)

Jez, be aware the hdmi cable you get with the box is crap, you may need to replace.
Mine used to do a green screen until I wiggled the hdmi connection into the tv. I would try another cable.

Stash36 - you are right - changed the cable and ... a picture is on the TV - having fun setting up now; first attempt I got a 'Sid not found in Pat' error on most channels - now trying VTi image - thanks for the advice re cable

Sid not found in Pat error was most likely due to your settings/bouquets or the channel not broadcasting. Not your HDMI cable.

if you plan on flashing a solo with rs232 and nfi via vu utility then it wont work it a known bug with thw box that has been reported to vuplus official site

You wont get anything other than FTA channels unless you have a valid subscription or belong to somekind of card sharing scheme (which we dont go into detail here).
